People don’t tend to hand IT leaders a trophy for doing a good job. They’re lucky if anyone acknowledges their success at all.
That’s why IT World Canada is sponsoring the Ingenious Awards, produced by the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC). Canadian CIO recently spoke with one of last year’s winners. Fariba Anderson was the vice-president of lottery IT at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. She’s since moved on. But in 2012, the organization won an Ingenious Award for a highly sophisticated analytics solution to detect gambling fraud.
When it came time to make her acceptance speech, Anderson took a different tactic. She discusses her work with OLG, and why sharing the credit may be the most important contribution a CIO can make, in the latest episode of Canadian CIO TV.
