Top solution provider bolsters its leadership ranks

Things are moving fast at the corner offices of Top 5 Solution Provider OnX Enterprise Solutions.

OnX, headquartered in the Toronto suburb of Thornhill, Ont. with offices in New York, has promoted Paul Khawaja to the role of president of OnX Canada. The Khawaja announcement follows the hiring of Mike Cox as CEO replacing the high profile Ed Vos.

Khawaja, the long time Xwave senior executive, joined OnX last summer as executive vice president of the Canadian operation. Khawaja has more than two decades of channel leadership experience and will be reporting directly to Cox.

He’s responsibilities will not chance much as he will still be focused on building up revenues in the Canada market. Revenue for OnX Canada in its first quarter of fiscal 2014 was up 64 per cent compared to the previous quarter and up 24 per cent compared to the same quarter last year.  Gross profit increased 66 per cent over Q1 2013 with hardware and software sales responsible for the vast majority of growth and healthcare representing the fastest growing industry segment.  The company also attributes these increases to substantial growth in cloud and managed services.

Cox said that in just a short time with OnX, Khawaja has proven his ability to grow the Canadian business and improve earnings, particularly through converged infrastructure solutions and managed services offerings that have had a major impact on bringing value to clients. Khawaja was also instrumental in helping OnX evolve cloud and managed services strategy and in executing the company’s Federated Cloud vision.

Prior to OnX, Khawaja served as the senior vice president of services at Softchoice Corp. where he was responsible for North American services strategy, development, and operations.  He also held the positions of vice president of Bell and president of Xwave, as well as leadership positions in sales and business development at MITI Information Technology.

“Our continued investment in converged infrastructure solutions and cloud and managed services puts OnX in an excellent position for dramatic growth,” said Khawaja.  “I’m honored and excited to take OnX to the next level in Canada, supporting our clients in leveraging technology to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and accelerate growth, enabling them to be more competitive in the markets they serve.”
