TeraGo adds managed Amazon Web Services to cloud services

Amazon Cloud Services have been added to TeraGo Inc.’s list of managed services, the Canadian hybrid IT company announced yesterday.

The announcement came on the heels of TeraGo’s announcement last year that it selected AWS as its hyper-scale cloud infrastructure provider and joined the AWS Partner Network. TeraGo customers can access AWS through the AWS Canada Region launched December 2016. TeraGo says it will monitor, patch, and offer managed firewall and DDos protection.

It was a logical next step for the company, said Tony Ciciretto, president and CEO of TeraGo.

“Our approach to digital transformation is to offer strategic guidance and end-to-end services so that customers make the right strategic choices to take advantage of the benefits of cloud, while ensuring protection of their critical applications,” he said in a press release, adding AWS “completes the full picture of TeraGo’s Hybrid IT end-to-end offering.”

Primary use cases for AMS, according to TeraGo, include backup and restore and disaster recovery. In addition to the AWS Assurance Program, TeraGo conducts a yearly SOC 2 Type 2 Audit of its systems. TeraGo’s website also cites an IDC whitepaper – sponsored by AWS – that says businesses can achieve better security through AWS Cloud compared to using an on-premises solution.
