Tablets, notebooks and networking products fuel distributor’s growth

Distributor D&H Canada is reporting growth of 16 per cent in its fiscal 2013, thanks to strong sales of tablets, notebooks and networking products.

According to the company, its tablet sales have doubled year-over-year, thanks largely to 7” and 10” Android models in the seven- and 10-inch formats, and it expects this overall growth to continue into its fiscal 2014.

D&H Canada also announced it will be continuing its Business Assurance program, which provided $15 million in credit extensions to qualified resellers.  It’s designed to help independent resellers and system builders that need to augment their financing sources due to market conditions and have an opportunity to capture additional business with increased financial resources.

Back to the 2013 results, D&H said it’s starting to see strong sales for 10” tablets running Windows 8 Pro that are well-suited to corporate use, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 and the Atom-powered HP ElitePad 900. It’s predicting aggressive sales of forthcoming 7-inch Windows 8 Pro models, and added a strong accessories market is beginning to grow around these tablets, offering a strong bundling opportunity for resellers.

“Mobility has been a solid, driving force at D&H Canada.  It shows no signs of slowing since the consumerization of devices has permeated the SMB environment,” said Greg Tobin, general manager at D&H Canada, in a statement. “We continue to educate our resellers on how to capitalize and best support the unique requirements of a varied SMB community as it migrates to an increasingly mobile workforce model.  Our investment in the Canadian marketplace leads us to offer stronger support and a more unique and valuable product assortment than ever before, including in burgeoning tablet formats and accessories.”

Other strong growth categories for D&H Canada in 2013 included components for computer upgrades and builds, printers and consumables and storage. Looking ahead to 2014, growth is expected in mobile devices, storage, networking and security.
