SonicWall launches new managed security service provider program

Security is an increasingly important aspect for any business, and SonicWall’s new offering is hoping to help organizations tackle the problem by giving new tools to channel partners.

The security company has launched its new SecureFirst managed security service provider (MSSP) program, which aims to help partners with an existing managed security practice build, scale, and deliver security services to their customers.

The program will be available globally for SecureFirst silver, gold, or platinum partners and is offered as a monthly security-as-a-service model. It also comes with multi-tenant capabilities and go-to-market branding opportunities.

This announcement comes as the frequency and sophistication of data breaches and network threats increase, “forcing well-intentioned organizations to outsource network and data protection to MSSPs,” SonicWall senior vice president and CRO Steve Pataky says in a Mar. 27 press release.

“This opens many opportunities for SecureFirst Partners to deliver or resell expert 24/7 managed security services — backed by SonicWall’s automated real-time breach detection and prevention — to provide ongoing protection from cyber attacks. This means incredible growth for our SecureFirst partners, so we want to accelerate their managed security services in every way possible,” he adds.

With the MSSP market predicted to grow at a rate of approximately 25 per cent to $24.1 billion by 2021, according to a 2017 IHS Technology report, the program will also expand business opportunities for SecureFirst partners that don’t offer managed security services so they can get in on the action too. For organizations like a traditional value-added reseller, they will actually be able to resell pre-defined managed services that are delivered by partners in the SecureFirst MSSP Program.

“The absence of an in-house security team often compels some enterprises and SMBs to outsource their entire security program to a capable MSSP,” SonicWall president and CEO Bill Conner says in the release. “It is all about managing and reducing risks, and responding fast to security events — that’s where many of our partners truly excel.”

Additionally, SecureFirst MSSP Partners will be equipped with managed service “blueprints” that contain training, tools, and support so they can properly deliver SonicWall solutions.
