Software defined storage solution targets big data

Storage and data centre infrastructure vendor EMC Corp.’s annual EMC World conference is underway this week in Las Vegas, and the company is using the event to target the big data opportunity.

Software-defined storage is an approach to automating policy-based management of all virtualized storage, server networking and security resources required by an application.

IT World Canada’s Nestor Arellano is at the conference, and filed a report on the new offering and how EMC is enabling its partners to help their clients tackle big data.
