October 29th, 2014: While it is difficult to say whether, a year on, Apple Pay has proved a success, one thing is certain. The move by big retailers to block the service has at best slowed it down, at worst driven up demand. Now there’s even talk that the service may even be coming to Canada sooner than later. Here’s hoping Google will follow suit with Android Pay soon after.

October 27th, 2014: With Windows 10 proving to be a success, it’s easy to forget that about a year ago, in an attempt to turn around the fortunes of its beleaguered Windows 8 operating system, Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7 licenses to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Time will tell if Windows 10 will be able to dethrone 7, the company’s most successful operating system to date.
