Mark Snider, the president of Ingram Micro Canada, spearheaded the creation of two new divisions inside is Canadian operation based in Mississauga, Ont.

New to Ingram Canada are the Advanced Computing and Advanced Technical divisions. With the new divisions, Snider promoted Kevin Forster to be the senior manager of the Advanced Computing division and Bob Bonneau has also been appointed to run the advanced technical division as senior manager of that group.

Ingram also introduced a hardware-as-a-service (HAAS) program in an effort to add onto its managed services offering.

Snider said the strategy with HAAS is to offer the channel no upfront cost for hardware/software/cloud services packages. Ingram has partnered with Lenovo and HP for the introduction of the HAAS service.

“They can package it as they want it for the customer and meet their unique needs, but in a service approach. Canadian customers have been asking Ingram for a hardware-as-a-service offering,” Snider said.
