She will be responsible for creating and driving revenue programs in these regions, and oversea sales, customer management, and the delivery of Cogeco’s full suite of information communication technology (ICT) solutions to medium and enterprise customers.

“Cogeco Peer 1’s unique position in the marketplace is ripe with opportunity,” Leverton says in a May 15 press release. “I’m looking forward to helping expand the company’s market presence in new segments while keeping service levels to the exceptionally high standards that the brand is known for.”

She tells CDN that she has a “strong background” in the channel, and will be looking to grow that stream of revenue.

“The channel will certainly be an area of focus for me. I really believe in the value of the channel and partnerships for growing a business – we need to have all routes to market lit up and engaged,” she explains.

Cogeco’s president, Philippe Jetté, calls Leverton “a dynamic leader with a proven track record of transforming organizations with creative thinking and strategic execution.”

“Her wealth of business experience will re-energize Cogeco Peer 1’s growth objective to substantially expand our existing business and develop new indirect sales strategies through a network of partners,” Jetté adds.

Leverton has worked in various executive roles with National Bank, BlackBerry, Bell Canada, and IBM Canada over the last 15-plus years, which has helped grow her knowledge in tech solutions. She has a master’s of business administration and marketing informatics from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, and a bachelor of arts, psychology, and political science from the University of Ottawa.

New partner portal

In addition to the new hire, Cogeco Peer 1 is introducing a new centralized and secure Partner Portal for “partner management, deal registration, marketing and sales enablement, product and technical resources,” the company says. It has also launched three new Partner Programs (detailed below), which were developed using the input of Cogeco’s partners, to boost their respective bottom lines and support their clients.

1. Referral Partner Program – Partners can drive new business and earn revenue through referring clients and prospects to Cogeco Peer 1. This program provides a simple and easy to understand structure where partners refer business to Cogeco Peer 1 and receive payment for each deal that closes

2. Referral Plus Partner Program Partners can empower their businesses and achieve lucrative residual commissions by referring business to Cogeco Peer 1. For partners who prefer to maintain an ongoing relationship with Cogeco Peer 1 and the client they refer, this program offers partners recurring quarterly commissions based on overall MRR (monthly recurring revenue) volume

3. Reseller Partner Program – This program allows partners to expand their business and enhance revenue through reselling select products and services at a discounted rate. It provides a simple and supportive approach to leverage the Cogeco Peer 1 global brand to help uncover potential opportunities and resell our solutions
