Ingram Micro collaborates with Cisco for threat protection tool

Distributor Ingram Micro has announced a new set of security assessment services to help with advanced threat protection (ATP).

The solution, branded FirePOWER Network Threat Assessment, were designed with Cisco for businesses of all sizes, and aim to identify network and endpoint security gaps.

It is meant to work onsite on Cisco’s Adaptive Security Appliance, a firewall product, and is part of Ingram Micro’s professional services offerings.

“Managed IT security is a large and growing service model for the channel,” Tim Ament, senior vice president of advanced solutions at the company said in a statement. “By aligning our Professional Services and Networking and Security teams, we are able to bring to market the advanced IT security services, solutions and expertise our channel partners need to proactively protect and serve today’s businesses.”

The solution is offered as a white-label product as well. Ingram said that after an assessment, partners deploying Cisco ASA is optional. It is available now.
