Distributor to offer disaster recovery-as-a-service

Value-added distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. has confirmed its partnered with disaster recovery solutions vendor nScaled Inc. to offer disaster recovery-as-a-service.

The San Francisco-based nScaled has developed an all-in-one disaster recovery,online backup and cloud storage solution and it will be offered to channel partners at no start up costs. The company entered into an integration and distribution agreement with Arrow. The agreement allows Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions segment to market, sell and support nScaled’s Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service or DRaaS via integration into the ArrowSphere online marketplace.

ArrowBuildingArrow plans to integrate nScaled’s DRaaS into its ArrowSphere platform, allowing partners to configure, price and order the nScaled DRaaS solution. The nScaled DRaaS expertise and resources provided as part of the new relationship also provides increased flexibility for IT professionals who want to help their customers make the transition to the cloud.

The nScaled plan for the market is to supports organizations with low tolerance for the unavailability of data and business-critical Windows and Linux systems.  For anytime-anywhere access and control, nScaled’s Console puts enterprise-class IT business continuity capabilities within reach of medium businesses. The company claims the solution delivers the scalability and security of a private cloud plus the lower cost, simplified management and increased flexibility of public clouds.

Jim Livingston, vice president of North American services for Arrow’s ECS segment, said nScaled’s Cloud DR service provides operational simplicity, performance guarantees and professional support at for a mid-market cloud DR solution.

Mark Jameson, nScaled’s vice president of sales said with Arrow, and technology relationships like the NetApp Service Provider partnership, the company is able to bring cloud based IT protection to mid-market businesses who need to make sure that their business stays in business.
