Dell Canada hires a familiar face as its new president

Kevin Peesker is making his return to the Canadian channel as the new President of Dell Canada.

The role of Dell Canada president is a newly created position for Peesker, who was instrumental in building Dell Canada’s channel network under the Partner Direct program launched in 2007.

Peesker will be leaving his post as general manager for Dell’s consumer and small business customer segments in Europe and is expected to take over the Canadian subsidiary on Feb. 4.

Paul Cooper, the current country manager, will remain with Dell Canada as the new business lead for Public and Large Institutions (PLI). According to Dell, Peesker will choose his leadership team and start to integrated end-to-end segment structure, spanning consumer, small & medium enterprises, mid-market, and large institutions across commercial and public sectors in the early part of Dell’s new fiscal year.

CDN was told that David Miketinac will continue to be the business lead for Small and Medium Size Business (SMB) for Dell Canada.

As Dell Canada President, Peesker will be responsible for continuing to drive Dell’s commercial business in Canada with enterprise, services, end-user computing and software customers.

In Europe, Peesker’s scope spanned a diverse geography including teams in the UK, France, Germany, India, Casablanca, Bratislava, Copenhagen, Ireland, Netherlands and the Nordics. A member of Dell’s Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) senior leadership team, Peesker’s responsibilities included sales, on-line sites, customer experience, strategy and multi-country team and P & L management.

In 2011, Peesker led the UK and Ireland’s consumer, small and medium business market, which also included the UK field teams.

Peesker will be reporting to Paul Henri Ferrand, President, North America Commercial for Dell. Ferrand said that Peesker has had a significant impact on Dell’s business in Canada and EMEA. He will continue to play a critical role building on Dell’s successes in Canada as the company transforms to an end-to-end solutions company. Peesker’s appointment to this newly-created position brings with it a stronger country focus to the sales organization.

The last time the Canadian market saw Peesker, he served as Dell Canada’s vice president and GM of SMB. In that position, he was responsible for all aspects of Dell’s direct and channel sales and marketing activities. Peesker is also a member of Dell Canada and the Americas International leadership team, which included ownership of Dell’s corporate commercial customers as well as Dell’s software and peripherals business unit.

Prior to joining Dell in 2003, Peesker occupied several management and executive leadership roles in finance, operations, marketing, sales and general management working for such brands as AIESEC Canada, Sun Life, IBM, Lexmark, Gateway, and British based UTC.
