Apple sorry about iOS maps drama

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) CEO Tim Cook is offering his apologies for recent  difficulties with its mobile map software, and The Associated Press reports he has some interesting advice for iPhione users:

Apple CEO Tim Cook says the company is “extremely sorry” for the frustration its Maps application has caused and it’s doing everything it can to make it better. In the meantime, he recommended that people use competing map applications to get around.

When Apple launched an update to its iOS software for iPhones and iPads recently, user quickly notices problems with Apple’s new mapping software. Inaccuracies bugs and spotty information were among the complaints.

Irate users turned to Twitter and blogs to voice their frusturation, with sites such as The Amazing iOS6 Maps posting user submissions of wacky Apple maps, often side by side with what they should look like in Google Maps.
