For the third time in a row CDW Canada is the No. 1 Solution Provider in Canada according to the CDN Top 100 Solution Providers rankings.
The list of 100 of the best IT solution providers was released last night at a gala awards ceremony attended by more than 200 channel partners from across the country.
When the Etobicoke, Ont.-based solution provider first joined the CDN Top 100 in 2006, CDW was ranked number 13th. Since then, the company consistently moved up in the ranking finally hitting the number one slot in 2014.
CDW Canada even broke the $600 million dollar mark for the first time since CDN changes the revenue reporting structure to just Canadian-based earnings. CDW Canada submitted a revenue range of $600 million to $650 million.
There was once change in the Top 5 from last year. OnX Enterprise Solutions after a one year absence from the Top 5 emerged to claim the No. 4 spot. Coming in second is Toronto-based Softchoice who had a huge growth spurt from 2014. Rounding out the Top 5 are Compugen of Richmond Hill, Ont. at No. 3 and CompuCom Canada of Mississauga, Ont. dropped slightly from No. 4 to No. 5.
Exiting the Top 5 is Long View Systems of Calgary, but that was expected since the slump in the Oil & Gas sector in Canada. Long View came in at No. 7.
But it was still a great night for Long View as it won the first ever Best Oil & Gas Solution Provider award.
CDN introduced six new award categories at this year’s event specific to vertical industries such as Oil & Gas. They are: Government, Healthcare, Financial Services, Education and Retail.
The winners in those award categories are as follows:
- Compugen: Best Government Solution Provider;
- FlexITy Solutions: Best Healthcare Solution Provider;
- High Vail Systems: Best Financial Services Solution Provider;
- 4Office Automation: Best Education Solution Provider; and
- Orckestra: Best Retail Solution Provider.
The best performing newcomer was Montreal-based unified communications and collaboration solution provider CBCI Telecom.
The Rising Star winner went to Toronto-based data centre solution provider CentriLogic who ascended an impressive 31 spots from last year when it place No. 70.
In a special ceremony at the CDN Top 100 gala Lloyd Bryant, the long-time leader of HP Canada was presented with a Life Time Achievement Award from the magazine.
The past three years has seen the Top 100 solution providers produce strong growth and 2015 was no exception with an increase of one per cent surpassing the $6.8 billion dollar mark in annual Canadian revenue, according to tabulations from CDN and IDC Canada.
The Top 100 Solution Providers Event was sponsored by Tech Data Canada, HP Inc. Canada, Dell Canada, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Canada and Equinix Canada. The CDN Top 100 Solution Providers Gala was held at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue in North Toronto.
