Veritas channel chief launches new strategy for 2016

Veritas Technologies’ Americas channel chief Rick Kramer dropped by the ITWC studios to discuss what the company’s vision will be after the separation of Symantec becomes official.

Kramer was interviewed by CDN Editor Paolo Del Nibletto for the video feature and is asked what customers and channel partners should expect to see from Veritas come the new year.

While most of the market place is focused on HP’s imminent split. Come early next year Symantec will also be two separate companies: Veritas, a publicly traded vendor focused on information management, while Symantec sticks to security. Later on Symantec would announce that it sold Veritas to a group of investment firms led by the Carlyle Group for $8 billion.

In this video interview, Kramer outlines his plan to target the un-managed channel community along with distributors in a cloud-first product development model. The strategy behind this move is to address the customer demand of better management of the zettabytes of data and growing. Kramer says that customers need to solve this as they are currently challenged with flat budgets, lack of human resources and data management solutions that do not address the new cloud reality.
