Xerox names a new worldwide channel chief

Former Tech Data senior executive Pete Peterson is the new worldwide channel chief of Xerox.

Peterson will have the title of senior vice president of Global Channel Strategy and will be responsible for revenue and profit growth, as well as leading and executing targeted investments across direct and indirect channels worldwide.

After the company’s largest announcement in 110 years, Xerox has a renewed commitment to the channel community. Mike Feldman, Xerox’ President of North American operations told CDN that the company is focused on enhancing and expanding its channel reach, particularly in the $20 billion multi-brand reseller space, by providing partners a broader set of products, solutions and vertically integrated tools, technology and service delivery processes.

Kevin Warren, chief commercial officer for Xerox, said the launch of 29 new multi-function printers under the AltaLink and VersaLink brands will enable new opportunities to the partner channel that serves small and medium businesses. Peterson is part of that investment in the channel network, bringing to Xerox the extensive experience required to ratchet up recruitment and activation of partners that are the right fit and growth potential to increase our market share with SMBs.

The Florida State graduate joins Xerox from Tessco Technologies where he led the sales organization. Prior to that, Peterson was the vice president of Global Channels at Brocade, a data and storage networking company; and he also spent 20 years at Tech Data.

At Tech Data, Peterson progressed through sales and marketing roles, ultimately serving as senior vice president of sales for the United States.

There is a Canadian connection to Peterson. He lists current Tech Data Canada president Rick Reid as one of his mentors. He also reported to Murray Wright at Tessco. Wright is a Canadian executive who led Ingram Micro Canada as well as worked for Tech Data and was the CEO of Zones before joining Tessco.
