Trustwave looks to hire at new Waterloo region security centre

Security vendor Trustwave has announced it is opening a security operations centre (SOC) in Kitchener-Waterloo and is looking to grow its staff.

It is specifically looking to fill at least 25 positions in roles including software engineers, security operations centre analysts and managers.

“The new SOC is in response to the growing enterprise demand for managed security services and will enable Trustwave to better serve its local customers and businesses looking for multinational capabilities,” the company said in a statement.

This announcement follows HP and AVG, who have both opened security centres this year, in Toronto and Ottawa respectively.

The Kitchener-Waterloo region will become the company’s sixth location after Manila, the Philippines; Warsaw, Poland; and Chicago, Denver and Minneapolis in the U.S.

Through what will be a “mission control” centre, Trustwave says it will deliver managed security services, customer service, threat monitoring and device management.
