Tech Data promotes two execs for both broadline and value-add push

Tech Data Corp. has made two human capital moves that squarely try to balance its core business as a broadline distributor, while further enhancing the company’s value-added strategy.

The company has appointed Brian Davis to senior vice president, marketing and promoted Chuck Bartlett to senior vice president, advanced infrastructure solutions. Tech Data released a statement saying that the appointment of Davis and the promotion of Bartlett bolster the company’s strategic focus on both broadline and value-added solutions.

Quaglia said he is pleased to welcome Davis back to Tech Data and he is confident that Bartlett will continue to drive growth in the value-added solutions businesses.

“Brian and Chuck have proven expertise in the channel and have earned the respect and confidence of both our vendor partners and reseller customers. We are excited to have them in place to lead the execution of our strategies across our core and value businesses. This new structure also more closely aligns our organization in the Americas with the structure of Tech Data Europe, providing consistency for our partners throughout our worldwide operations,” Quaglia said.

Davis rejoins Tech Data from Insight, where he has served as senior vice president, product marketing since February 2011. Previously, Davis was with Tech Data for more than 10 years, progressing through various leadership roles, including vice president, product marketing, client systems and vice president, sales, consumer technology and supply chain services.

Bartlett has been with Tech Data since 2006, most recently serving as vice president and general manager, advanced infrastructure solutions. He has more than 20 years of IT sales, marketing, and distribution experience. Previously, Bartlett served as vice president; global distribution sales, marketing and e-commerce with Molex Inc., a manufacturer of interconnect products and systems, and was vice president, worldwide distribution sales, marketing and e-commerce with Phillips Semiconductor.

Tech Data will also receive the Enterprise Networking Distributor of the Year award from Cisco at the 2014 Americas Distribution Forum. Tech Data was recognized by Cisco for its profitable growth, business performance, and customer experience.
