Tech Data Canada to take part in Microsoft devices program

Tech Data Canada has confirmed it will participate in the Microsoft Devices Program and make the Surface Pro and Surface RT available to commercial solution providers.

The Microsoft Devices Program was launched at the end of June of this year and was created to use channel partners to resell the Surface device to businesses of all sizes along with education segments. Tech Data is one of three Canadian distributors to be part of this program. Ingram Micro Canada and Synnex Canada are the other two.

Tech Data plans to have high availability of Surface devices and accessories to support channel-wide requirements and a dedicated resource to manage all reseller partner needs.

Tech Data was recently recognized as Microsoft’s Distributor of the Year at the recent Impact Awards Gala.

Greg Myers, the newly appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing at Tech Data Canada, said the distributor intends to bring industry-leading knowledge and dedication to Microsoft’s Devices Program for all authorized reseller partners.

“Our reseller partners are always looking for innovative products to help them grow their business. These devices span work and play, can be easily configured and have the right software to get the job done. This program allows us to bring these devices to our reseller partners across Canada and demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the Microsoft devices and services they require in their business,” he said.

Jason Brommet, director, partner business and development, Microsoft Canada, said bringing Surface Pro and Surface RT to the Canadian commercial channel through distributors extends the reach of Microsoft devices-and-services strategy.

The Microsoft Partner Network is designed to equip organizations that deliver products and services through the Microsoft platform with the training, resources and support they need to provide their customers superior experience and outcomes. Launching first in the U.S., and now activated in a total of 18 markets, Microsoft Devices Program creates a two-tier distribution model with authorized partners to enable commercial customers to purchase Surface Pro and Surface RT.
