StorageCraft adds onto its cloud story

Data backup and disaster recovery vendor StorageCraft Technology Corp. is making its case as a cloud provider.

Late last year the Draper, Utah company made a special offer for Canadian managed service providers by providing a 30 per cent discount on new devices using StorageCraft Cloud Services.

Today, the company achieved a milestone by growing at 200 per cent in data stored, while maintaining a 99.99 per cent uptime rate on cloud operations.

StorageCraft’s Cloud Services is based on the company’s ShadowProtect software. StorageCraft recently released ShadowProtect IT Edition PRO, which provides IT professionals with disaster recovery, data protection and system migration for Windows systems, without installing any software.

Some of the new features of ShadowProtect IT Edition PRO are the inclusion of Granular Recovery for Exchange, allowing companies to recover email messages and entire mailboxes from Exchange Database files.

Curt James, vice president of marketing and business development at StorageCraft, said Managed Service Providers, value added resellers and their customers are learning that StorageCraft Cloud Services is a best-in-class data and backup recovery tool just like StorageCraft ShadowProtect and StorageCraft ImageManager.

“It cannot be overstated that access to data is vital to the survival of businesses. That is why we give our partners and customers the extra layer of protection provided by offsite recovery options as well as quick and reliable access to their data with StorageCraft Cloud Services,” James said.

StorageCraft Cloud Services provides offsite backups of servers and workstations for complete system and data disaster recovery. StorageCraft Cloud Services includes anytime, anywhere access to data and instant system failover in the cloud. It gives users options ranging from instant virtualization of their servers to archiving, which allows businesses to adopt aggressive recovery time objectives for their systems and near-continuous data protection, while keeping control over their systems and data in the cloud, the company said.

StorageCraft Cloud Services provides the following features for the channel:

• Instant virtualization and networking of cloud devices.

• File-and-folder access.

• Personal control of customer backups for fast recoveries.

• High encryption and facility security standards.
