SkyKick levels Office 365 migration tool at enterprise market

Integration application company SkyKick has rolled out an enterprise version of its Office 365 migration suite designed for small and medium sized businesses.

SkyKick’s Enterprise Migration Suite is a compilation of tools that simplifies the adoption and implementation of Microsoft Corp.’s subscription-based online productivity software built around the Office platform.

Like its SMB counterpart, Enterprise Migration Suite is built as a value-added kit for solution providers, according to Todd Schwartz, co-chief executive officer of SkyKick.

“This is a pure channel play,” he said to CDN. “We were very successful with our SMB product, now we want to make it easier for channel partners serving the enterprise to migrate their customers to Office 365.”

Evan Richman, co-CEO, said the enterprise suite is meant for environments with 250 to 10,000 users. It automates the assessment and migration process of legacy Microsoft Exchange servers or cloud-based Google Apps.

“We have been getting increasing demand from solution providers that serve mid-market and enterprise companies,” he said.

Adoption of Office 365 has been slow, but tools like Enterprise Migration Suite, which automates and streamlines migration, could change all that.

The suite features project planning, migration, scheduling and management tools as well as installation assistants and control dashboards.

The suite’s assessment tool automates the process of detecting open accounts and assets that require migration.

The project management and scheduling feature allows phased migration and mitigates risks associated with large scale implementation.

Installation assistants reduce the need for IT personal to physically go from desks to desks when installing and configuring applications.

On average, it takes about 300 hours to reconfigure and migrate 250 workplace computers, said Schwartz. With the Enterprise Migration Suite, one the same can be accomplished in about 70 hours.

Traditionally, it takes days to discover mailboxes that require migration, but with the suite, IT administrators can accomplish the task with the push of a button, he added.

“The suite makes it easier for service providers by taking as much as 90 per cent of the tasks and automating it,” said Schwartz.
