Rogers is now a managed security services provider

Could Rogers soon be known as a security company?

The Canadian telecom giant announced this week new solutions created in partnership with Trustwave aimed at detecting, preventing and resolving attacks on businesses at home and abroad.

According to Rogers, it is Trustwave’s first Canadian partner.

The new solutions will be delivered as a service, and will give customers access to diagnostic tools to view attacks and access support and intelligence from experts working from Canadian security operation centres (SOCs).

The telecom giant said that both “local and global operations” are available.

Specific services provided include real-time 24/7 monitoring, diagnostics such as proactive scanning and testing and dedicated support.

The announcement comes in light of a major partnership between Telus, Cisco and Microsoft to offer hybrid cloud in Canada.
