Citrix Systems and Palo Alto Networks teamed to launch the Palo Alto Networks VM-Series, a next-generation virtualized firewall and threat prevention offering, on the Citrix NetScaler SD service delivery networking platform.
The vendors say the integration will allow customers to use one multi-tenant platform for dedicated advanced delivery controller and next-generation firewall instances tailored to meet the specific needs of individual applications. It fits into their shared vision of enterprise networks becoming an end-to-end cloud delivery platform allowing employees secure mobile access to business data and applications.
“Many IT organizations are transforming their networks into end-to-end cloud delivery platforms; we are pleased to be working closely with Citrix to deliver essential application delivery controller and enterprise security capabilities so organizations can easily realize their cloud goals without compromising performance or security and employees can safely access any application from any device or location,” said Chad Kinzelberg, senior vice-president of business and corporate development at Palo Alto Networks, in a statement.
Citrix and Palo Alto Networks are also building on existing validated joint solutions for Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop virtual application and desktop virtualization solutions. They say combining VM-Series and NetScaler ADC on Citrix NetScaler SDX will deliver secure access for virtual desktop users operating remotely as well as “Zero Trust” segmentation.
“Palo Alto Networks and Citrix NetScaler have already established industry leading positions in public and private clouds in their respective products,” said Sunil Potti, vice-president and general manager of the NetScaler product group at Citrix, in a statement. “By integrating the VM-Series on the Citrix NetScaler SDX platform, organizations can now leverage best-in-class ADC and security capabilities on an unified, purpose-built platform.”
