New notebook packs a whopping 8TB of storage

Ottawa PC vendor Eurocom has developed a laptop with a whopping 8TB of storage – that should hold plenty of video to get you through your next flight.

Eurocom’s Panther 5 boasts four Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2 TB storage drives for a total 8TB in storage capacity. Panther is Eurocom’s line of mobile “supercomputer” workstations and it developed the Panther 5 to be a powerful mobile computing solution for simulation, ray trace rendering, mobile analytics, CAD, CAE, server operations, software development, GIS on other compute (and storage) intensive solutions.

The mobile workstation also features dual MXM 3.0b graphics, 32 GB DDR3-1600 memory and Intel Xeon and Core i7 desktop processors. Designed for enterprise professionals that may be  creating, studying and manipulating sensitive data, the Panther 5 is equipped with a Trusted Platform Module 1.2, finger print reader and Kensington lock port.

Each notebook is fully upgradeable and custom built with a range of processor, graphics, storage and memory options, and is built to withstand demanding environments. Pricing starts at $3499.
