Microsoft Canada hires a new SMS&P lead

Charlotte Burke was named today the new lead of the small, midmarket solutions and partners at Microsoft Canada.

Burke replaces Dennis Cerasoli who left Microsoft Canada back in February of this year.

With Burke now in place Microsoft Canada has filled its two top executive positions under President Janet Kennedy.

Microsoft Canada lost both Cerasoli and Staci Tracey Meagher, the vice president of enterprise and partners at the same time earlier this year.

Kennedy was quick to replace Meagher, who was promoted, with Chris Barry, a 13-year veteran of Microsoft.

But CDN learned that the Canadian subsidiary began looking for external candidates after an internal search was exhausted.

Burke has a wealth of experience according to a Microsoft Canada source. She started her career at Compaq before the 2001 merger with HP. She has worked also at Sony, Bell Mobility as well as becoming the President of Asurian Corp., a Toronto-based protection and insurance technology services provider.

In the past eight year’s Burke has run her own company called Burke and Stanhope Group.

She does have channel experience. While at Compaq Burke was the national channel sales manager. And, also at Sony she helped to create a computer division and build the sales, marketing and distribution strategy there.

Burke joins Microsoft Canada at time when the subsidiary is planning on hosting the top channel partners at the 2016 Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto.

Microsoft has also unveiled two new data centres for the Canadian operation.

The SMS&P role at Microsoft Canada entails building customer loyalty in the SMB through channel partners, while developing partner strategy alongside Canadian Channel Chief Jason Brommet.
