CDN has learned from multiple sources that Greg Larnder, the channel chief of Microsoft Canada, has left the company. According to Microsoft Canada, Larnder’s departure is due to an organizational change.
The move was made on Dennis Cerasoli’s first day in Canada. Cerasoli was named the new vice president of SMS&P at Microsoft Canada back on July 5th, but was settling things in the U.S. and only just arrived at the Canadian operation on Monday.
Max Long, the outgoing president of Microsoft Canada, released this statement about Larnder’s departure.
“Please be advised that Greg Larnder has left Microsoft. We thank Greg for his contributions and wish him success in the future. We greatly value our partners – you are critical to our Microsoft business in Canada. We remain committed to supporting your continued success. Backfilling this role quickly with a strong leader is a top priority for the team, and I hope that Dennis Cerasoli, VP, SMS&P will be able to make an announcement shortly. In the meantime, please continue to engage with your Microsoft contact and for any direct dealings you had with Greg, or any escalations, please reach out to Dennis. I hope we can continue to accelerate growth together in FY14 and beyond.”
Larnder’s departure is just one in a long series of departures from the Canadian operation. Max Long is leaving the president’s post on Sept. 30. In April, Long’s hand picked No. 2, Mark Dodds, Cerasoli’s predecessor as VP of SMS&P, left the subsidiary in April.
Neil Tanner, the VP of SMS&P before Dodds, left in July of 2012. Corinne Sharp, the person in charge of the channel before Larnder, left in May of last year. And, back in April of 2012, this Microsoft Canada revolving door of executive started with the departure of Eric Gales, then President of the subsidiary.
