IT Weapons scores big partnership with Toshiba

CDN Top 100 solution provider IT Weapons Inc. from Brampton, Ont., is now powering up the services arm of Toshiba Canada.

Toshiba Canada has developed new services for cloud, data protection, security and managed services targeted at organizations looking for back-end infrastructure help or virtualization. Alex Mourra, solutions program manager at Toshiba of Canada, said these services are aimed at reducing the cost of non-essential commodity elements of IT.

“(It also) frees up resources for investment in other business critical IT capabilities,” Mourra added.

Toshiba Canada selected IT Weapons, a one-time solution provider of the year at the CDN Channel Elite Awards as its partner because they viewed the company as a “true Canadian pioneer” in IT Services.

Ted Garner, CEO at IT Weapons, said his team worked extremely hard for over a decade to build a world-class private cloud and IT infrastructure engine for the Canadian mid-market. The company is proud that Toshiba has chosen IT Weapons as their go-to partner for IT service delivery across Canada.

The new Toshiba Canada cloud service includes access to enterprise-class resources such as application servers, storage, networks and more delivered like a utility with no capital investment. This service comes with a monthly fee.

With the data protection service, it will be fully managed and monitored by IT Weapons for data corruption, viruses and malware. This disk-based backup service will also improve data recovery times.

In managed services, Toshiba Canada will include 24/7 system monitoring, on-site consulting support, ITIL certified technical support, alert notification, and reporting.

The security services help businesses stay compliant with provincial and industry regulations, reduce the risk of data loss and protect their reputation. Security services included are vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, configuration audits and compliance audits.

Recently, IT Weapons acquired fellow Brampton-area solution provider Collins IT.

Jeremy MacBean, director of business development at IT Weapons, said the integration of Collins IT was immediate and the team at Collins that would be transitioning to Weapons with no disruption clients.
