Ingram to seed its Cloud marketplace more

Phoenix – Just a year ago Ingram Micro had 100 cloud solutions and services from 40 different cloud vendors in its portfolio.  At the Cloud Summit, held here, the distributor added considerable to that list.
Renee Bergeron, Ingram Micro’s cloud computing chief, announced that its Cloud Marketplace will feature 170 cloud solutions from 53 vendor partners. Of that 120 of those cloud solutions will be available in Canada from 40 vendors. Last year there were just 56 in Canada.
“The past two year Ingram Micro has invested in building a team and a road map for the cloud. We have a service advisory council and they tell us the needs of the marketplace. We also do research on how the cloud market evolves. These new cloud partnerships opens up a new realm of services for communications and we started on the telecommunications channel. We saw that customers are asking for a provider who can offer cloud with communications services such as Internet connectivity, voice and data and they want it bundled. We believe this will offer better cross selling and increased revenue streams for channel partners,” said Bergeron, the vice president of managed services and cloud computing, Ingram Micro North America.

The strategy is to aggregate voice and data services along with support from telecom carriers into a channel-friendly delivery model with standardized pricing and support services.
Ingram signed cloud vendors such as Birst Inc.BoxCyrusOneDocuSignMedwebNextGen HealthcareVistara, RingCentral, Cornerstone Technologies and Reflexion.

Bergeron added that those solution providers who have expertise in networking such as selling traditional routing and switching products can start to bundle telco services.
Bergeron also cut deals with CenturyLink and Time Warner Cable. These are not for the Canadian market at this point in time, she said, however Ingram Micro will be following up for Canadian specific telecommunications partnership.
