According to a report from Network World, when IBM launches a public beta of Notes and Domino 9.0 Social Edition next month it won’t be using the Lotus brand. The other brands bearing the Lotus name are expected to follow suit.
Lotus is probably best known for two of its early and more iconic products: Lotus 1-2-3 and Lotus Notes. One of the first user-friendly spreadsheet offerings, 1-2-3 helped the early adoption of the PC as a business tool, while Notes because a popular groupware and e-mail offering.
