IBM pushes Bluemix with CSC developer partnership

Las Vegas, NV – IBM is ramping up its developer efforts with the addition of IT services company Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as a strategic partner, the company announced this morning at its Interconnect 2015 annual conference.

The Falls Church, VA-based company will be using IBM’s platform as a service (PaaS) offering, Bluemix, to build cloud applications.

The goal is to help clients transition to the cloud, modernize applications, and cut deployment time from months down to minutes, according to an official IBM statement.

“They’re going to train their developers on Bluemix so that they can go out and help their clients build hybrid clouds,” said Robert LeBlanc, senior vice president of IBM Cloud.

LeBlanc was also referring to a similar partnership with Tech Mahindra, an Indian multinational IT and network services provider.

With the announcement, CSC has access to Bluemix’ public, dedicated, and newly announced local offerings through the SoftLayer cloud infrastructure.

“Today’s announcement builds on IBM’s existing alliance with CSC to offer clients a broad set of cloud solutions – including mobility, digital and big data & analytics services – that help them increase operational agility, choice, flexibility, and cost-savings,” IBM said in a statement.
