HPE introduces IoT sensors and gateways with Aruba and Intel

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) today announced a new IoT and Aruba solutions aimed at IoT efficiency in data collection and analysis and beacon management.

Called Edgeline IoT Systems, the new product line is a joint venture between HPE and Intel. Two devices, Systems 10 and 20 are available in ruggedized, mobile and rack-mounted versions and are designed to be gateways at the network edge. Both are Microsoft Azure IoT Suite certified and run Windows 10 IoT for industrial, logistics, transportation, healthcare, government and retail applications.

While System EL10 is designed for entry-level deployments, EL20 comes with more features for higher compute capabilities and quick deployments. It’s also designed to handle higher volumes. Both run on HPE’s Moonshot system architecture.

Meanwhile, Aruba has released a cloud-based beacon management solution aimed at multivendor Wi-Fi networks.

Called the IoT Aruba Sensor, it combines a small Wi-Fi client and BLE radio, it allows users to remotely manage Aruba Beacons across wi-fi networks using Meridian cloud.

The new sensors are meant to help companies introduce location-based services.

HPE Edgeline IoT Systems are available now in the US, while Aruba sensors are now available to order.
