Acer gets official with new Aspire One netbooks; starts at $298

Rachel King writes about some new netbooks from Acer for its Aspire One product portfolio.
“Acer has officially introduced a quartet of new netbooks to be added to the Aspire One collection, all of which have some fairly reasonable price tags. The AO521 (MSRP: $429.99) and AO721 (MSRP: $429.99) are available immediately, while the AOD260 (MSRP: $298.00) and AO533 (MSRP: $329.99) will be out before the end of the month.”

“Google is now giving users more clear cut options for sharing documents: private; anyone with a link; or public on the web. All documents start out as private, with the creator as the sole administrator. You can then share your document by setting it as ‘Anyone with the link,’ which allows anyone who knows the web address or URL of that doc to view it. You can set your document as ‘public on the web,’ which allows anyone to find the document on the web. Google says that Public docs are automatically indexed by search engines so they may appear in search results.”
Palm confirms new devices, webOS upgrade

Sean Hollister writes that according to reports, Palm’s Developer Relations team has announced an upcoming version of its webOS and new devices.
“Palm’s Developer Relations team has reportedly stepped in to confirm that speculation, telling devs that future devices and a new version of webOS are on the way. While there’s no knowing if those devices are smartphones or when we might see them, we’re told to expect a ‘very exciting’ next year.”
