The world’s biggest distributor just got bigger. Ingram Micro has announced its acquisition of Grupo AÇÃO, a Latin American value-add distributors. Based in Brazil, Grupo AÇÃO handles IT solutions from vendors including IBM, Oracle, Red Hat, EMC and VMware. The company provides integration services, sales support and financial services, with operations in Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Ecuador.

Meanwhile, Tech Data Canada announced that it has added SimpliVity’s hyper-converged technology to its portfolio of offerings.
“SimpliVity, through its OmniCube and OmniStack solutions, offers a hyper-converged infrastructure that combines compute, storage and network switching with deduplication, integrated backup and globally federated management,” Greg Myers, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Tech Data Canada said in a statement.
