The southern-California based company is one of the first to use AI to prevent advanced cyber threats entirely on the cloud. With its new channel program, Cylance looks to grow its relationships with partners to create higher margins on both sides, as well as grow its cybersecurity community.
“We’re really become known for raising the bar on efficacy in terms of finding and detecting, rather than using humans to detect and respond,” Didi Dayton, Cylance Inc. vice president of worldwide channel sales, told CDN over the phone. “We’re getting to the point where we are enabling customers to use technology to offload a lot of these tasks that humans don’t need to do anymore.”
Cylance’s flagship product, CylanceProtect, a next-generation antivirus product that uses machine learning to teach AI to detect and prevent malware from lodging itself on endpoints in real time, pushes this mentality forward.
Dayton compared Cylance’s ability to search for malware on servers to how Google can search in an instant over billions of website pages and find the exact term you were working for – except Cylance applies the principle to programs, files, or anything that would touch a PC, laptop, or server.
Removing the human factor is vital to that process, he said, “quieting” the network from the noise of humans doing all of the legwork behind the scenes as they try to find security threats and eradicate them.
“The Cylance channel mission is to go to war on inefficiency and shelf-ware, and shift the focus for customers away from reactive threat detection and poorly deployed solutions to full deployment and auto-quarantining threats across 80 per cent of their systems within the first quarter of the investment,” Dayton said.
Canadian partners will be happy to hear that since Cylance runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers, the cybersecurity company will be taking complete advantage of the new AWS Canadian region launched earlier this month.
Additionally, Cylance offers an added bonus to its channel partners who are over 80 per cent deployed across its clients: a free one year subscription to Cylance support for a non-profit of that partner’s choosing.
“We know that nonprofits are the target of many attacks, and they are often the most vulnerable,” said Dayton. “By offering our products free of charge, we have the opportunity to build a security community in areas that otherwise lack those security experts.”
There are four levels of solution provider partners within the channel program: emerald, platinum, gold, and national. Partners of the program will benefit from training in best security practices, deployment, and using the cybersecurity company’s endpoint security solution.
