Cloud provider Intronis discards per gigabyte pricing

Cloud solutions company Intronis Inc. is rolling out a new cloud backup and data protection platform for IT service providers and is replacing its per gigabyte storage pricing model with a flat fee unlimited cloud and unlimited storage pricing plan.

“This simple change is going to be transformational for our MSPs,” said Aaron Dun, CMO of Intronis. “We are putting an end to the per gigabyte pricing model that has long been a norm in our industry.”

Dun did not release any actual prices, but he said that by adopting a flat rate monthly plan and “fixing cost on the backend” Intronis’ channel partners will be able to achieve “flexibility, predictability and greater profit potential.”

“This helps MSPs avoid that very painful conversation with clients of explaining what data they should backup and which ones they should not backup in order to fit a budget on a per gigabyte storage pricing plan,” he said. “Our partners will not have to justify the value of what they do based on how much a client stores.”

Intronis’ new ECHOplatform pulls together a number of in-demand services, plug-ins and extensions such as server and laptop imaging as well as VMware and Hyper-V, SQL and Exchange backup in a single, secure and scalable platform. The company said it also plans to make bare metal restore (BMR) and file synch and share capabilities available in the near future.

The platform is designed to make it easy for channel partners to deliver cloud backup and data protection services to customers, said Neal Bradbury, co-founder and vice-preside3nt of channel and development for Intronis.

“We want to make everything simpler for our partners,” he said. “Now they can really bundle services and reduce risk for themselves and their SMB customers.”

The new all-in-one platform features an open API, seamless integration with current professional services automation (PSA) and remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools and a management portal that provides a single view of all account activity.

ECHOPlatform will be offered by channel partners on an unlimited cloud and unlimited local storage fixed flat fee for SMBs. Partners can also customize and scale their the storage solution to fit the needs of their customers.

The platform can be rebranded to reflect a company logo and colour scheme.
