Cisco goes internal for new Canadian channel chief

Mark Collins is the new channel chief of Cisco Canada. As the Canadian subsidiary takes the wraps off a brand new headquarters, the networking giant began a search for the departing Dave DeAbreu, who left Cisco for Rogers.

Collins does have previous channel experience. He was the director of partner operations at Cisco Canada responsible for development and implementation of the company’s global partner strategy.

The Wilfrid Laurier University graduate was the vice president, marketing for Cisco Canada and in that role worked closely with the channel organization.

Prior to this position, Collins was Cisco Canada’s manager of connected architectures and led the Canadian partner organization’s partner architecture and business development teams. Since joining Cisco in 2000 he has also held leadership positions in financial services, outsourcing, and systems integrator sales.

Before joining Cisco Canada, Collins held a variety of positions in product management and sales at GE Capital IT Solutions.
