CDN News Roundup: Windows 10 is in & Larry Ellison is out

It’s been a busy couple of weeks in the solution provider channel in Canada. Here’s an update on the latest channel news from CDN.

Dell’s annual partner conference just wrapped-up in Austin, Texas and CDN editor Paolo Del Nibletto was there.  He reported a focus by Dell on making it easier for partner to deal with the vendor, beginning with its deal registration program.

Software giant Microsoft is preparing to say goodbye to Windows 8 and hello to Windows 10 … but what about Windows 9?

BlackBerry attempts to turn the corner with a splashy launch of its long-awaited Passport smartphone in Toronto. CEP John Chen said the company has turned the corner.

It’s the end of an era in the computer industry as long time Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, one of the most truculent leaders of the information age, steps down as CEO of the company he founded back in 1977.

HP Canada has a new channel chief for its enterprise group, with Chris Champagne taking over as vice-president of channels from Andrew Eppich.
