Canadian security firm expands as cloud demand grows

A Toronto-based data protection company has opened a new office just outside the city as it expands operations to deal with the growing demand for cloud security solutions.

Perspecsys Inc., said its new office in Mississauga, Ont. will house a growing team of engineers, sales, product and marketing personnel that will bring its AppProtex Cloud Data Protection Gateway to market. The software solution can be deployed in a wide range of configurations with optional server components and provides critical data security and privacy controls.

Perspecsys’ new office will be housed in a 12,000-square foot facility in Mississauga. The building is designed to handle the planned future growth of the company.

“The opening of the new, state-of-the-art Mississauga office gives us room for our expanding employee base in the technology region of Ontario, enabling Perspecsys to meet the rising demand for enterprise cloud data protection gateway solutions across the globe,” David Canellos, CEO of Perspecsys, said in a statement. “The proliferation of the cloud across enterprises around the world is requiring organizations to not only secure sensitive data and meet industry regulations, but also to ensure the high performance of mission-critical SaaS-based applications.”

The cloud market will be worth no less than $285.7 billion by 2018, according to latest estimates by research firm Gartner. Many companies are migrating to cloud environments in order to reduce IT cost, streamline operations and leverage big data analytics, according to Gartner.

The new state-of-the-art, collaborative 12,000-square foot Mississauga office will provide Perspecsys much needed growing room to enable the cloud adoption plans of some of the largest brands in the world. These customers rely on Perspecsys to keep sensitive and regulated data under their complete control, even while adopting public cloud applications like ServiceNow and Salesforce.com.

For example, AppProtex Cloud Data Protection Gateway gives organizations the ability to protect data before it leaves their network. All sensitive information is replaced with a token or encrypted value while inside the enterprise’s firewall; prior to going to the cloud for processing and storage.
