Chip biz to grow 10% in 2010

“Happy days are here again for the semiconductor business, with the analysts at Gartner now projecting that worldwide semiconductor sales will rise by 19.9 per cent, to $276 billion, in 2010. Recovering PC sales and rising DRAM memory prices are combining to help push up DRAM revenues by 55 per cent compared to last year, thus buoying the entire global semi market. Gartner’s current projections call for sustained but more subdued growth through 2014, with global sales hitting $304 billion in 2012.”
Asus assures no more delays for keyboard-computer

“Asus promised that its much delayed Eee keyboard PC will finally ship in April. The device, which integrates an entire PC into a single keyboard unit, was unveiled at Cebit last year. However, shipping product has yet to appear. The most recent forecast shipdate was … last month, and the product was still a no-show. Asus chairman Jonney Shih told reporters that user testing had taken longer than expected and the device was, once again, ‘delayed a little bit.’”
SAP Partner Summit: SaaS and SME Moves Take Center Stage

“At the SAP Partner Summit in Las Vegas, Senior vice-president Pat Hume and vice-president Kevin Gilroy stepped to the stage and addressed more than 1,000 solutions providers that work within the SAP PartnerEdge partner program. Roughly 52 per cent of SAP’s small and mid-size enterprise sales currently involve partners. Looking ahead, Hume wants to push that SME figure to 100 per cent partner-centric – as SAP balances on-premises and SaaS strategies.”
