A new winner emerges from the Top 100 Solution Provider event

TORONTO – Compugen’s reign at the top of the CDN Top 100 Solution Provider list lasted just a year, as Softchoice reclaims a position it held for seven years.

Softchoice narrowly beat out CDW Canada, who placed second, and last year’s reigning champs Compugen, who slotted into 3rd position. CompuCom Canada came in 4th with another solid year of results. And, for the first time in its history, OnX gets into the top 5.

Best performing newcomer was managed print services provider QRX Technology Group based in Vaughan, Ont. The Fastest Riser winner was Calgary-based solution provider PC Corp Inc. who soared 18 spots to claim the prize. PC Corp, a traditional full IT solution provider introduced a managed services practice and it has certainly paid off.

For the second year running, CDN is awarding regional prizes. ESI Technologies of Montreal captured the award for best performing Central based solution provider. Bulletproof Solutions Inc. of Fredericton, N.B., won the Top Eastern Solution Provider of the Year award. And, Mainland Information Systems Ltd. got the nod for the Top Western Solution Provider after a spectacular revenue producing year.

Best Small Business Solution Provider went to Waterloo, Ont.-based FoxNet Inc. and the Best Mid Market Solution Provider was won by Ottawa-based managed print services pioneer PrintersPlus.

After an impressive comeback in 2011, growth continuing for the Top 100 Solution Providers in Canada in 2012. According to CDN’s research partner IDC Canada, this group generated revenues that broke the $6 billion barrier. The growth rate was also quite healthy at just under eight per cent. Also the threshold to enter the Top 100 moved up significantly from $5 million to $6 million.

More than 250 people from solution provider organizations across Canada attended the annual event held at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue in North Toronto.
